Psy has forced YouTube to upgrade.

Due to the overwhelming amount of views his 2012 “Gangnam Style” hit received on the video sharing site, YouTube had to expand their view counter.

“We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer, but that was before we met Psy,” YouTube wrote in a blog post. “‘Gangnam Style’ has been viewed so many times we have to upgrade!”

The music video reached YouTube’s viewing ceiling when it passed 2,147,483,647 views, making it the most watched video in the site’s history.

“I can’t compare it to anything else!” Psy told MTV in a previous interview when the video first reached 1 billion views.

“It all began with YouTube,” he said. “And to have (the video) reach 1 billion views … I don’t think even I can break that record!”
