Broadway is in mourning over the tragic death of “Les Miserables” cast member Kyle Jean-Baptiste.

The 21-year-old Brooklyn native died Friday evening after falling from a fire escape, a rep for the Broadway production confirmed to the Daily News.

Baptiste made his Broadway debut as an understudy for Jean Valjean, and made “Les Miserables” history when he took the stage as the iconic character for the first time last month.

Kyle Jean-Baptiste, 21, was the youngest actor to ever play Jean Valjean in a Broadway production of “Les Miserables.”

Not only was he the youngest Valjean to appear in a Broadway production, but was also the first African-American as well.

“Today I go on as my dream role,” he tweeted on July 23. “No words. Guna remember this night.”

Baptiste was cast in the Broadway musical following his graduation from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.

When he was not going on for Jean Valjean, he also played the characters Constable and Courfeyrac.

The cast and crew of “Les Miserables” issued a statement mourning the loss of the young actor.

“The entire “Les Miserables” family is shocked and devastated by the sudden and tragic loss of Kyle, a remarkable young talent and tremendous person who made magic – and history – in his Broadway debut,” the statement read.

“We send our deepest condolences to his family and ask that you respect their privacy in this unimaginably difficult time.”

Josh Groban, Kristin Chenoweth and Debra Messing were among the stars to share their condolences on Twitter.

“He was just getting started. So sad. My condolences as well to family and cast,” Groban tweeted, while Chenoweth called his passing a “heartbreaker.”

“This is so unspeakably tragic. Thinking of his family and all who loved him,” Messing tweeted.
