There’s such a thing as being too big in Japan. Taylor Swift finally made it to the stage at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Tuesday, but so many fans had shown up to the airport to see her arrive that it caused flight delays, according to TMZ. The “Shake It Off” singer is in the country as part of her “1989” world tour. She also Instagrammed a pic of her 55,000-person capacity crowd at the Dome.

“The Soup” host Joel McHale says in preparing for Monday’s Met Gala, he “waxed all the hair off” his body, then bathed in milk. “That brought me to about 10 a.m., then I worked out in a sauna,” he joked to [email protected] “Lot of tears and crying. I dropped the 15 pounds I needed to get in this tux.” McHale said he then downed four shots of bourbon to calm his nerves for the ball, which the comic claims he “catered” just a few years back.

Apparently President Obama’s staffers get to use the restroom before New Yorkers. The POTUS entourage infuriated a female [email protected] spy waiting for the restroom at a West Village Starbucks Monday when one of the team told her, “I’m sorry – I have to go in front of you. We’re in kind of a rush.” We’re told a few presidential aides, a handful of Secret Service agents (identifiable by their ear pieces and lapel pins) and a couple of cops were cooling their heels at the coffee house’s Greenwich St. and W. 12th St. location, while their boss attended a Democratic National Committee fundraiser at the West Village home of Advent Capital Management CEO Tracy Maitland.

“I was standing in line for the bathroom behind two of the people from Obama’s team,” said our source. “Then, after picking up a drink, one of the staffers – he may have been Secret Service – said, ‘I’m sorry, but I have to go in front of you because we’re in kind of a rush.’ He said, ‘I’m with them,’ pointing at the two people in front of me. So he just cut me in line for the bathroom even though I really had to go!” When our indignant spy sniffed, “I understand you have more important people to tend to,” we’re told the offending lackey “just stared at me, like he wasn’t allowed to acknowledge what I was saying.”

Lucy Liu, Steve Buscemi, Matt Dillon, Rob Morrow, Gina Gershon and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” writer Hugo Guinness all skipped the Met Ball to go to a private dinner together in Brooklyn, a spy tells us. The group trekked to Rucola in Boerum Hill, for a dinner organized by Emily Mortimer and Fisher Stevens in support of local organization Reel Works, which provides free filmmaking courses to inner-city youth. “They’re all close friends of Emily and Fisher,” we’re told. The group enjoyed a “delicious Northern Italian” meal.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Lenny Kravitz were spotted Tuesday evening in luxury vintage store What Goes Around Comes Around in SoHo, doing some damage to their fat wallets. Kravitz spent about an hour and a half at the store buying a “whole bunch” of clothes for himself, including lots of leathers, Jimi Hendrix tees, Hawaiian shirts and overalls. Gaultier was there separately; he is a regular customer at the store. The duo started talking about their night at the Met Gala and all the gorgeous gowns on all the beauties who attended.

Fergie showed off her famous lady lumps on the beach this week. The “Fergalicious” singer, 40, took a day break in the ocean with a group of female pals on a trip to attend a wedding with hubby Josh Duhamel in Palm Beach, Fla.

Producers of the Julianne Moore and Ellen Page movie “Freeheld” are trying to see how the story plays in the ’burbs. “They’ve been going to theaters outside L.A., where they pay the audience members $ 10 each to watch and give their feedback on it,” one insider tells [email protected] “They want to gauge the reaction.” The story centers on New Jersey police Lieutenant Laurel Hester and her domestic partner, Stacie Andree, who fought to have Hester’s pension benefits go to Andree after Hester was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Newlyweds Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have been heading from one exotic locale to another since their recent quickie wedding. The “Vampire Diaries” stars enjoyed their honeymoon in Mexico and then showed up in Rio for a party to promote Azzaro Cologne. The duo couldn’t keep their hands off each other, an continued showing major PDA.

Not everyone can make a van look so chic. But Ciara pulled it off as she left the “Today” show Tuesday morning. The star had performed her song “I Bet” on the show, then helped celebrate Cinco de Mayo by helping chef Pablo Loza whip up some chips and gaucamole, which we’re sure are not staples of her usual diet.
